Troubleshooting Guide
Wolf Induction Cooktop Not Detecting Cookware
Induction cooktop won't recognize or heat pots and pans
cooktop
Your Wolf induction cooktop displays a "no pan" indicator or doesn't heat even when cookware is placed on the cooking zone.
Quick Fixes to Try First
- 1Test with a known magnetic pan (a magnet should stick to its bottom)
- 2Ensure the pan is centered on the cooking zone
- 3Try the same pan on a different cooking zone
- 4Clean the glass surface to ensure proper contact sensing
Most Common Causes
Non-Magnetic Cookware
DIY Possible
The pan isn't made of magnetic material (must be iron, steel, or magnetic stainless steel).
Pan Too Small for Zone
DIY Possible
The pan diameter doesn't cover enough of the induction coil for detection.
Warped Pan Bottom
DIY Possible
A pan with a warped or uneven bottom doesn't make sufficient contact with the glass surface.
Other Possible Causes
Failed Induction Coil
The electromagnetic coil for that specific zone has failed.
Control Board Issue
The electronic control board isn't properly detecting the magnetic field feedback.
